Use effective communication skills and productive problem-solving or mediation strategies as a team member with a variety of audiences. (5.1)



Social Media Self-Assessment
Participants will self-assess their knowledge, understanding and expertise on various social media platforms.
Participate in opportunities for continued training and education.  (9.1)
Periodically use self-evaluation for the purpose of targeting goals and specifying steps to ensure ongoing personal professional growth. (9.2)
Demonstrate the ability to evaluate family centered communication skills through self-assessment.  (3.8)

Participants will be able to identify a variety of social media platforms and the similarities and differences among them.
Participants will be able to identify regulations that govern the use of social media as a way to interact with families and professionals in the early intervention community.
Provide a flexible menu of participation and support opportunities for families regarding identification, implementation and evaluation of child and family outcomes and strategies. (3.7)
Share complete and unbiased information with families to enhance their ability to weigh the pros and cons of services, supports, and techniques. (3.6)
Demonstrate a basic knowledge of relevant federal and state legislation, regulations and policies (FERPA…) that impact services and supports to children and families. (8.1)

Participants will demonstrate how they would use a variety of social media platforms to address specific scenarios—e.g., introducing new families to early intervention, addressing proposed policy changes, supporting families to be leaders in policymaking.
Provide a flexible menu of participation and support opportunities for families regarding identification, implementation and evaluation of child and family outcomes and strategies. (3.7)
